After using the copy option from the Query Area. You can use "Edit > Paste Special" to paste a linked text block onto the drawing. It gets placed at 0,0.

Doh!
We KNOW that!
Can we paste link multiple values into the same text block and add them together? As in we have lots of areas that we have measured, but we also need total areas - and the areas to total come from different layers (i.e. they are on separate floor levels) so one object does not solve the issue.
... and if we can't currently do that, can we have this added as an enhancement request please?
As useful as the snap guides are, they are also a major headache. It is just too easy to snap to the wrong position when they are turned on.
An idea to eliminate snap errors would be for the option of having the area under the cursor appear magnified so that the exact snap position can be seen clearly.
Perhaps have the magnified panel appear when the thumbwheel is pressed, or using the ALT key so that the pane appears so long as the key is held down.
Ok but....
The thumbwheel, when pressed, is used to pan the drawing. So you can Pan and Zoom at the same time.
The Alt key is used by Windows to activate the menus.
Not many alternatives left unless the Shift key was used to force the snap to pick actual graphics (rather than snap guides).

I'd like the option to add a Z offset when tracing.
A useful enhancement to the selection options would be to have the option to have all of the current selection kept when switching between object and primitive selection modes.
When switching from object to primitive, all of the primitives that comprise the objects would remain selected as primitives.
When switching from primitive to object, all of the objects for which any primitives are currently selected would become selected.
Currently, we have to use external applications to create video from MicroGDS renders. Having this capability built-in would be a welcome advance.
And what about incorporating some of this technology? Blending rendered stills and animations with video for example.

Seriously, this demo is really worth watching all the way through. There's even a section that covers applying paint effects to the video. Imagine Piranesi walk-throughs ....

A useful option on tool tip text would be to display the actual text from text primitives under the cursor when in primitive mode.
When the current set object is NOT in the current window, there should be some obvious change in the way that properties are displayed in the properties window - perhaps a change to the background colour, or even an alert message if a user tries to edit properties to warn that they are editing something that is not currently being viewed.
