The circle example is just to highlight the issue, now consider a road engineering drawing where a segment of road edge may be a curve with a radius of 500m or the same facetted at 1m and ther is a section of about 30m missing and your job is to fill it in with like geometry....EVERY click adds time to the clients bill or takes it off your wages. So the more information that is available to save time the better and you cant afford the luxury of hovering over each potential vertex postion in a 50Mb drawing...not with christmas coming ;o)

But that's quite an interesting example. The top intellicad circle is not highlighting vertices, but "interesting" points on the circle... its centre and the NSEW points.

Presumably (I've not personally used intellicad) these green blobs are actually things you can drag with the mouse directly?

yep ...I do not actually use it either other than to xplode things when required or check conversion problems. But yes I've just checked when you click and drag the green blobs on a circle the radius drags too and when you click and drag the centre the whole thing moves.
I work around this issue by defining linestyles with blobs at the vertices and differing ones at each end and forcing the phase to that linestyle temporarily...but it would be nice to be able to force a highlight linestyle having blobs and direction indicators etc which could be switched on and off.

How about a CNRTL BRK interupt for fence select from a complex fence selection polygon....There is no way to stop it once you have started it..This was not much of a problem previously but now we can have unlimited vertices in polygons it makes for more tea breaks than is economical.

This should be available really in any command that takes more than a couple of seconds to run.

what about having 3d lines clumpable to form a legal booleanable wireline primitive. That would be great for construction graphics.

How about a deformation matrix. A bit like GDS's rubber sheeting.
you could define a polygon or a box 2D/3D ?? which describes the extents of the original graphics and one which describes the squidged extents. This would have the added benifit of allowing the modeller which is good at geometric stuff to be used to generate less geometric stuff..say turn a sphere into a rugby ball or a turnip ;o)

Scale factors in sweep
the ability to set a start and end scale factor when doing a solid sweep so you could have tapered sweeps.

There are a whole lot of complex geometry creation commands which could be implimented, some packages have multiple sweep paths and multiple swept lines and different axis scales all happening at the same time. these could be added one or two at a time as a matter of course every release ;o)

How about a "hot spot" button where if you hover over it when you rotate the mouse wheel it rotates the view in 2D view and spins it in 3D and if you click it brings up the view parameters.

I am interested by your suggestion - could you expand a little here?
What are you trying to do (in 2D views, and in 3D views), and why is a mouse wheel the preferred gesture?

The current View Parameters Dialog lets you set a precise rotation for a 2D view. We had always envisaged this 2D view rotatation as aiming at aligning skew plan axes with the screen while working, rather than as something one would want to spin dynamically, so the request is unexpected, and I'm intrigued as to your intent...

The current round/wheel thumb-wheels let you spin 3D views - what specifically you are looking for in a mouse-wheel gesture, that differs from the 2 thumb-wheels?

Do you mean a tool-bar button such as the View Toolbar/View Decoration buttons, or a spot overlapping the drawn scene area?
Mouse wheel gestures over a toolbar are not a normal GUI action, but a tool button which activated a (transparent) spin command would match GUI styles...
