Hi Colin

XP home SP3
I think this is most likely to be a registry protection issue of some sort: the user doing the installation needs enough privilege to write to the HKLM branch of the registry.
If you are running with administrator privileges already, then perhaps a previous installation of something has left strange protection settings on some parts of the registry. Fire up regedit, navigate to the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\.cs\Persistent Handler
and right click it and choose Permissions... (if this key doesn't exist, try parent keys). The permissions list may give you some clues as to what has happened.
no joy!!
John sent me a .exe and mentioned that he thought it was because VB express was installed.
The compiled prog works fine though.
thanks All
My method is to create a mnemonic called primtype as computed entity type, then in the phase filter use the "Advanced" option to exclude all primitives of type "TextPrimitive".
I have a series of mnemics pre saved in the Attribute style file. So I don’t need to re-create for each job.

This request may prove a bit tricky. Text is always a problem when photos are rotated for Print layouts. A feature within photos which can align text to a chosen set axes rotation. The text primitive would need to rotate about the centre centre justification.
On the same theme of photos and window plotting; with a linestyle we can create a style for “output” which is ideal for plotting the same graphics at different scales and maintaining line weights that look correct. Can we have a similar option for charstyles.
Marco
Following on from Marco's text suggestion, I think that we need a general overall of Photo functionality. Being able to edit graphics directly in the photo would be my first requirement.
I agree it would be good to be able to edit photos directly but only if the user was given the option of ensuring that it did not "break" another window or indeed project or drawing. At least when you have to jump models to edit the graphics in a photo you are aware that something fundamental in editing terms is going on.
Also per last couple of posts, agree that text should have more built in dynamic sizing and alignment options.
The auotomenu config thingy method in MGDS is a bit of a pain...could we have a plugin directory which you just put apps into that automatically show up in MGDS's menu system. You could still have the menu config file to overide the plugin location.....
I keep on getting things configered the way I want then along comes an upgrade and ...........<?#*!*&!!
Colin
It sounds like you have your config files in the Informatix programs folder. There is a short answer to that, don't do it!
You shouldn't put anything into any folder in the programs directory, if you value it. You should be keeping it in some safe data directory somewhere, of course this should be backed up regularly :-)
