snoopywang:

Can you compress those into a ZIP file please?

Also, are the brushes formated for both PC and Mac?
I need them for Macs
Thanks for sharing!

Actually I think they are compressed as the file format is rar which is similar to zip on windows. I'm not sure whether Stuffit can handle rar files. The file formats should be usable on both windows and mac.

I had not seen an RAR compresed file in a while.
So for you Mac fans, go to VersionTracker.com and download the app called UnRarX.app.

It does the trick.

So how do you unzip the file in windows?

Stuffit Expander can handle rar files on Windows - it's free, included in the "Stuffit Standard" free trial from here (http://www.stuffit.com/win/expander/)

I unzipped the file. How do you install the brushes? Thanks.

Hi,

Easiest is to make a style library from these image files with "Library/New/Style Library Builder" on the Style Browser's menu.

Select the Brush type, browse for the folder you unzipped, then on the next page, supply a pathname for the new style library psf file, then Finish.

This adds the style library to the browser (called "My Brush Library" unless you changed it). Just double-click on a brush to start using it.

David

I checked the link. It expires now.
I have to seek for other solutions. However I find one: www.drivehq.com, from which I can share the file with you. But I need to send you an invitation from drivehq which needs ur email. After you get it, u can fetch the file from drivehq.com
So give me your email if you think this solution works.

Hi Bart,

I removed the email address from your post because it attracts spam. But if you look at snoopywang's web site at http://snoopywang.multiply.com/journal/item/13, you'll see a new download location:

Penuel,

actually in piranesi, this is 2.5d rendering. since you can lock special face, orientation, material or color, you can paint just on the disired area in the image. And the marker brushes are just like some stamps, you may adjust the size and angle, and stamp it in some proper area.
besize, the rendering action is important. i usually use ink mode, since it can mimicry the overlapped effect of markers. however, light mode is important as well, especially in the final step, in which you highlight some focus area.
Generally speaking, 2d rendering or 2.5 d rendering are more associated with traditional or real drawing techniques. So it's hard to tell many tips of software, if i keep track of every operation of using piranesi producing an image, it will be a thick book. but the steps are very trival. So the best way is to find some sense in real drawing techniques. I bet there are many many nice books telling that.
Good Luck, man!
