View Full Version : Can Piranesi Do This?

Hi all,

I'm very much a newbie at Piranesi - I just downloaded the demo last night. I've been doing photorealistic renderings for many years now but have recently been challenged to produce a series of "true" hand renderings. If we can match the style below, then we've got the contract. And so begins my search for answers. I have a few burning questions:

1. Is Piranesi capable of reproducing the style below?

If so,

2. how closely can it be mimicked?
3. how involved is the process?
4. How long would it take a proficient user to produce a similar rendering?
5. Would any of you be willing to take on a paid mentoring role via phone, chat, or email and help me get up to speed quickly?
6. Would any of you be willing to do the renderings on a paid sub-contract basis?

I'm looking for answers rather quickly. Please reply here and to my email address through the forum.

Thanks and all the best,

Jason

Hi Daniel,

Thanks so much for the reply! I appreciate it. Unfortunately, the images you posted don't match the style of the image I posted.

Sorry man. :(

Thanks again.

Piranesi can do antything as long as you have the had to do it. You wont' get that quality of line or that kind of application of color by pressing a single key.

Wile Piranesi can distorr many of the edges and demarkations in color somehwt like that, you need to draw many interior lines in that way and to apply color using the various Piranesi brushes. Just think of Piranesi as another medium to use to apply your own style and creativity. Anything is possilble.

Hi Bomber AIA, Thanks for the compliment.

First of all I filled up the entire scene in white. I switched my painting device to a raster brush. Just choose any raster brush in the available library and set your brush sizes at the "brush" tab settings. Prior to painting, I also set the blend to about 30% - 35%, thus, making the painting onto the scene much softer. You can later adjust the blend to a higher percentage when you attempt to paint your scene a second layer of paint to get the watery look. You can also change the blend mode to other different mode e.g. ink, tint, paint random to make your image much more "hand-painted" effect. I've tried them all and found that they're all gave quite a stunning effect. In addition, it is more of an artistic sense in each of us to produce those water-colour effect like those of Wang Wang's.

Hope this help.

Regards,
Daniel

Thanks for the help. I will try it and let you know how it comes out. I am an architect and I don't have alot of time to spend on colored site plans or elevations. I only color them, never a perspective. I leave that up to a professional.
