Im just curious if there is any way to render an image out of 3ds Max with the antialiasing still ON without getting all the extra lines in Piranesi? My thought is that if I render without anti on, the actual image will look horrible and have jagged edges, which if I want to show any of the original image in Piranesi it will obviously show that and still not look good. Id like to be able to have a great looking render without taking hours to erase each individual line...
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,

Fortunately you don't need to erase every line by hand to keep the image quality!

The procedure is to render without anti-aliasing to EPix, then render the same view with anti-aliasing to PNG or TIFF.

Now open the EPix file in Piranesi, use File/Import to load the anti-aliased image file over it, then File/ReRender.

You should also check the image size of your EPix file is suitable. There's more about this here: http://www.informatixsoftware.com/forums/showthread.php?t=213
